6 Simple & Surprising Decorating Tips for Your Wisconsin Christmas
Well folks, it’s our favorite time of year here at Lakeside Living… when we get to deck out our store in Christmas decor and enjoy a bit of holiday magic!
This month, we thought we’d inspire you with a few of our own favorite decorating tips. Whether you’ll be hosting the big event this year or simply want to enjoy a holiday ambiance in your home this month, you’ll love what we have to share…
Christmas Décor Tip #1: Dress up that naked tree!
Everyone knows you should decorate your tree, but do you know what often gets neglected? Tree bottoms!
If you don’t have presents yet, that’s no reason to keep your tree-bottom from looking sad and empty. Try packing it with seasonal pillows instead!
They not only look festive and inviting but they make your tree look complete.
Christmas Décor Tip #2: Get that tree in front of a window!
How heartwarming is it to see beautifully lit Christmas trees twinkling from the windows of your street? Why not add to the merriment by showing your tree of to its best view?
Adding a garland (or two, or three) to your window frames is another great way to emphasize the view and get in the holiday spirit.
Christmas Décor Tip #3: Give your mantle some love.
A mantle and fireplace are an important part of any family room, and how you dress them up can change the look and feel of the space. This is no less true during the Christmas season!
Dress your mantle to impress. We suggest garlands or wreaths, candles or poinsettias, even a classic centerpiece. Don’t be afraid to hang those Santa stockings early either… if it gets those rambunctious grandchildren to behave! 😉
Christmas Décor Tip #4: Style a table fit for the season.
This display of plaid table runners, plates, and mugs, are the perfect pairings to keep things casual but festive, cozy but lively. Proof that a nicely set table can easily elevate “just another brunch” to a merry holiday event!
Christmas Décor Tip #5: Pump up your sitting space.
Festive pillows are a great way to say “tis the season” but we especially love this wooden tray. Can’t you just picture mugs of eggnog, spiced cider, and hot cocoa welcoming your guests?
We would happily pull up a seat for that!
Christmas Décor #6: Don’t forget the Christmas foliage.
All of the photos we’ve shown you so far included some sort of foliage to liven up the space. After all, decorating for the holidays is about adding color and spirit.
If you find that your space is missing some natural elements, you can easily find some at your local grocer or florists. Trust us, it’s worth it!
That’s all of our tips for now. If you’re looking to add some new Christmas décor to your home, stop by and say hello to us, won’t you? We’d love to help you find the perfect piece.
In the meantime, we wish you all many blessing and happy memories during this joyful Christmas season!
